Finally, Days Away

"Who are these guys?" is most likely what you're asking. Since they are scarcely known and very little publicity has been given to them, there's no reason why you should know these guys... yet.

Days Away are a bunch of hippie rockers who pride themselves in the songs they love to play. I saw these guys two years back playing in at the Ottobar (fantastic venue) in Baltimore to a crowd of only few who fell for this band. With their swaying bass lines, amazing drums by Tim Arnold, and the heartfelt lyrics of Keith Goodwin, Days Away has been my guilty pleasure for years now. Since their release of Mapping An Invisible World in 2005, their album stunned everyone who managed to find their album. Despite their small following and the band having yet to really make a big impact of their careers, Days Away has a big impact on whomever listens to them.

After touring wherever their van carried them over the past couple of years, Days Away have finally released some new, quality music, well worth listening. After updating their webpage (very nice), and moving forward with their latest material following their first LP, Days Away has given more than enough time to let their old material settle, gather dust, and then some. Finally, something new is here. Something so very soul cleansing makes its appearance: Ear Candy For The Headphone Trippers.

Most notable on this EP is "I'm Sorry I Told You All My Problems". This is my new favorite and ranks above many of their older songs. And if I must, a close second on this EP would have to be "Being A Part Of You".
If you've never listened to Days Away and you're looking for something spacey, listen to "T Kline's Decline" off of Mapping An Invisible World. That song just so happens to top my list of songs I helplessly zone out to. This list also includes "Constantine" by Something Corporate and "Goodbye Sky Harbor" by Jimmy Eat World. I know... old songs, but that's where it stands.

So thanks to Days Away for making my year by releasing this EP. This year wouldn't have been the same without something new from them!
*Days Away posted a new video for their song "I'm Sorry I Told You All My Problems". You can watch it here.
