If you've been watching college basketball this past weekend or have even been caught channel surfing past CBS, you may have seen a Miller Lite Commercial featuring one of MUF's favorite groups from 2008, Air Traffic. The commercial features a group of 20-somethings getting ready for a wedding in a parking lot by tailgating with a few brewskis before heading into church. Sounds normal right?

The song in this commercial is only an instrumental version, but the popular UK rockers actually had their song "Charlotte" used in this commercial We highly recommend checking out Air Traffic's album Fractured Life, which was finally released in the US in 2008. Check out our show review @ Johnny Brenda's right here.

You may have seen the loads of Geico commercials with cavemen and such. With all of their catchy songs they feature, particularly the one with Royksopp's "Remind Me", as the caveman walks through an airport on the skywalk, they have no shortage of commercials either.

Most recently, I saw their motorcyle insurance commercial, which Geico titles "Walkin'" on their website. The commercial actually plays the post-punk revival band The Sounds' "Hurt You" from their 2006 Dying To Say This To You album.

Here at MUF, we always have an ear for those songs in commercials on tv, so we're starting a new section called "Commercial Music".

The first of these two is Seawolf, one of MUF's favorite bands over the course of the past year. We had the opportunity to catch Sea Wolf (see our show review) and enjoy their featured song, "You're a Wolf". But this isn't Sea Wolf's first song in a commercial. Their first is actually "Ses Monuments" in a Radioshack commercial shown at the end of last year. But each song shown to a national audience is something any artist can appreciate, especially for lead vocalist Alex Church who is still enjoying the success of his 2007 album Leaves In The River. "You're a Wolf" has now been featured in a Honda Hybrid commercial.

Santogold has continued to stay on the map with her most recent showing on the Ford Flex commercial. Her song "Creator", which I first heard on WOXY months ago has that club, thumping, rhythmic template so catchy for a flashy car such as the Flex. Santogold has continued to win me over in the past year, especially when I tripped over a quote of her's I found:

"Everyone is just so shocked that I don't like R&B. Why does R&B keep coming into my interviews? It's pissing me off. I didn't grow up as a big fan of R&B and, like, what is the big shocker? It's stupid."
