Almost like the Gorillaz, the UK's shock-faced masks of Stars and Sons are soon to take the ambling road of miniature indie stardom through their free EP release of The Goat Show. Perhaps mini stardom is pushing it but it is hard to look past a group that puts a cut-out cartoon face in place of their own.
I hate to talk about the image too much though (The picture says all that). This 7-track EP far exceeded my expectations. The eloquent strolling piano and the deep-yearning vocals along with a plethora of animating sounds don't mask any lack of talent. From my short listen to The Goat Show, Stars and Sons have created a well-timed compilation. Go to their myspace and donate a buck or two if you enjoy this album. We'll have more about these guys as soon as we can...
