The next stop on the joy ride of music this year is 1990s. The brandished buds from Scotland meant to fool around and play a gig for some locals, but the event turned into the seed for a band that can't stop growing. While their jittery dance-rock hasn't hit as heavy an audience in the U.S. as in the UK and Scotland, their newest release, Kicks, which is set to release on March 23, begs another set of fan-inducing rock, laced with the starry energy of The Velvets.
1990s, composed of Jackie McKeown, Michael McGaughrin and Dino Bardot, initially released Cookies in 2007 with the help of Rough Trade and World's Fair. For tour dates hit up their MySpace page.
